Iowa Review Archive
Welcome to The Iowa Review’s free digital archive, which contains full text of all the remarkable writing published in The Iowa Review (TIR) from its founding in 1970 through 2009. (Full-text versions of 2010 2012 issues are not yet available, but you can view tables of contents and selected works here.) All told, there are 124 issues of the magazine and 5,617 individual poems, essays, and stories available in this space for your browsing or searching pleasure. Before now, this work had only been available in physical back issues of TIR (still available at our webstore) or through access to a subscription-based digital archive such as JSTOR. We are grateful to JSTOR for partnering with us to make our archive more widely available digitally. We also wish to thank the University of Iowa Arts & Humanities Initiative and the National Endowment for the Arts for the grant funding that made this project possible. Finally, gigabytes—no, terabytes—of thanks to TIR’s archive team: Gare Calhoun, Lauren Haldeman, Jenna Hammerich, Erica Mena-Landry, Katharine Monger, Lynne Nugent, Sevy Perez, and Alyssa Perry.
Happy reading, and we invite users to contact us with any feedback about the functioning of this archive.
